WNGAG and local residents had the opportunity to give evidence in person and say why they opposed the developers’ plans to build at Barn Hall during the public inquiry conducted by the Planning Inspectorate in June 2008 in Basildon. Unfortunately the (then) Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Hazel Blear, decided to ignore the Planning Inspector’s recommendation (in favour of not building) and allow building to start at Barn Hall; and, in February 2009, the High Court rejected Basildon Council’s appeal against that decision.

Gleeson and Gladedale made a new, detailed planning application to Basildon Council in 2010 and WNGAG are pleased that their plans are very different from those in 2006. For more information and further updates, see News and Updates.
